About Matota Technologies

Science in Service of People

Matota Technologies was founded on the belief that better imaging tools can lead to faster, more informed decisions in drug development — and that those decisions ultimately affect real people waiting on research to translate into treatment.

Mission

Shorten the Path from Discovery to Patient

Our mission is to shorten the path between scientific discovery and patient access. We develop scientific imaging tools designed to help drug-development teams observe biological responses faster, make experimental decisions sooner, and move promising therapies forward more efficiently.

Origin

Grounded in Peer-Reviewed Research

The CSOD platform originates from peer-reviewed research in optical and biological imaging. Matota Technologies was founded to translate that scientific work into a compact, laboratory-compatible instrument — making schlieren-based biological imaging accessible to the broader research community.

Scientific Basis

Validated by Independent Literature

Academic literature supports the premise that biological events can be detected through physical-property changes rather than only through labels, stains, or endpoint biochemical assays. Magnetic levitation studies show that single cells and microorganisms have measurable density-linked profiles, including changes associated with drug treatment. Digital holographic microscopy studies further show that nanoparticle and cytotoxic perturbations can be quantified through label-free optical measurements of native cell populations. Together, these studies validate the scientific basis for CSOD: biological response can produce measurable physical changes, and those changes can serve as event indicators.

Why We Build

Not Every Delay Is Inevitable

Drug development is inherently complex, but every avoidable delay extends the time patients wait for new therapies. Matota Technologies develops tools designed to make research workflows more efficient and accelerate experimental decision-making. Patients should benefit from medical innovation sooner. We are working to help make that possible.

Our mission is to shorten the path between scientific discovery and patient access.

How We Work

Our Principles

We build on defensible science

The CSOD is grounded in peer-reviewed research and validated scientific premises. We communicate what we have built and what we are testing — not what we hope to eventually claim.

We design for the researcher

The CSOD is being designed around the real needs of biological researchers — compact, workflow-compatible, and oriented toward actionable experimental feedback.

We build for access, not just performance

Advanced optical imaging should not require large-scale infrastructure. We are building for the laboratories that need better tools, not just the ones that already have them.

We measure success by patient impact

Faster experimental decisions mean faster development timelines. Faster development timelines mean patients reach effective therapies sooner. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
